Day 1:
Your
English speaking driver will meet you on the
dock and transfer you by air-conditioned vehicle
for about 1 hour to the beautiful desert valley
of Wadi Rum, made famous by T E Lawrence.
Wadi Rum is a protected area covering 720km2 of
dramatic desert wilderness in the south of
Jordan. See it all in a 3 hour 4WD Jeep Tour.
Freshen up at a 5* desert campsite before
climbing into the back of a 4WD jeep. As you
make your way through the canyons and across the
vast tracks of red sand, see ancient
inscriptions, extraordinarily coloured sand
dunes and majestic mountains.
During the course of your tour, you will have a
walk through one of the picturesque canyons for
approx. 45 minutes. When you reach the other end
your driver/chef will be waiting to serve you a
bbq lunch (chicken or lamb, served with
delicious salads). Complimentary sodas and water
are provided. After lunch, continue your desert
tour, before returning to the campsite.
There will be camels - "ships of the desert" -
available for riding (extra cost) from Bedouins
out in the heart of the desert or at the
campsite.
Your driver will return you to the port of
Aqaba. Time permitting, take a brief tour of the
city and stop at the Souqs or Duty Free shops
before returning to your ship.
